Looking to save money on your monthly bills? While there are ways to scrimp and save, the most effective way of lowering your household expenses is by making improvements. Think of it the same way you’d think about investing in the stock market. You need to put up money in order to earn more money.
Once you make these improvements, you’ll realize savings every month going forward. Think of it as your interest. Every month you’ll gain more and more in interest, until the interest covers the premium. From there on out you’re in the black, saving money that you’d still be wasting if you didn’t make these improvements.
What improvements can make the biggest difference? Here are five that really stand out.
The economy has forced many people to become creative with their shopping techniques. Money does not seem to go as far as it used to. There are basically two ways that you can look at all of this. You can mope around and be miserable about the current state of the economy which never gets anyone anywhere or you can take a different outlook on the situation.
You must see this as an opportunity for something new, a chance to change for the better. Once you understand this simple concept, everything in life becomes a whole lot easier. Here is what you need to do:

Today, it’s quite possible for people to live environmentally-friendly lives while still (if you’ll excuse the phrase) living large. Just look at celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s so green that he makes a point of flying commercially, instead of using a private jet. Yet, he still has a California mansion (powered by solar panels) and a luxurious New York apartment (which employs a fleet of hybrid limousines).
Of course, most of us probably can’t afford to go out and get one of those awesome electric Tesla Roadsters, but that doesn’t mean we have to quit living our normal lives in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
Here are just a few everyday ways to live green while still living the life.
Are you contemplating moving to a new home and purchasing new appliances? Or do you just want to replace or upgrade your refrigerator? Appliances are the indispensable necessities of any home that help us perform innumerable household chores without any hassles and most importantly, make our lives easier. However, it is a known fact that appliances are very expensive items and getting the best deal is the dream of every homeowner. If you want to save on appliances, but do not want to compromise on the quality, then consider the following useful tips:
Did you ever buy something at Amazon.com and find yourself just shy of the $25 needed for Free Super Saver Shipping? If you’re like me, you’ll just need to find an item for $2.99 to hit that minimum. But I can never find anything that low, so I usually end up spending a lot more than the $25 dollar minimum. Sound familiar?
Well, your extra-spending days are over because I have a solution for you!
There are a number of websites out there dedicated to helping you with this exact problem. All you need to do is type in the amount you need to reach the $25 minimum and like magic, they will list items for you! Even if you only need something for less than a dollar!
Here’s an example:
Here is a Lego set that cost $23.10.
I look in my shopping cart and Amazon says that I need to spend $1.90 to qualify for Free Super Saver Shipping. I could go buy that really cute pair of shoes for only $39.99, but I’d only be doing that to get the Free Shipping. So instead…
…I will go to:
Amazon Filler Item Finder
Amazon Price Tracker 24
I type in $1.90 and come up with….
Cat Dancer 101 Cat Dancer Interactive Cat Toy $1.90
Browne Foodservice 11022103T 8-Ounce Squeeze Bottle Top, Clear $1.93
The 7 Golden Rules of Milton Hershey (Laws of Leadership) $1.95
Robots Prize Pack Stickers (Cards) $1.99
Pretty neat, right?
Now just be aware that sometimes the links don’t work. Or sometimes the item costs less than you actually need. (Or lots more!) I’ve also noticed that the lower the price, the stranger the items. For example, when I typed in $0.01, it came up with: GF Piping Systems PVC Pipe Fitting $0.20!
Just keep trying and you’ll either get an item you actually need or a funny filler item to make that $25 minimum!
Good Luck and Have Fun!
