As the summer kicks into high gear, people are hitting the gym more than ever. Those bathing suits aren’t going to show themselves off, so everyone’s dieting and working out. But it’s hard. We know. We’ve been there. Heck, “diet” is just “die” with a “T.”
The worst part of dieting? Eating those frozen meals that give you super tiny portions and taste like sawdust. Well, if you saw our recent BistroMD review, you’d know that not all healthy frozen meals are created equal.
Made with super-fresh ingredients, BistroMD‘s food doesn’t just taste good, it’s real healthy for you. And real filling, since portions are bigger than you’d expect. Overall meal plans are put together by physicians, and the frozen meals are prepared by chefs before being delivered straight to your door. Choose from a 5-day or 7-day weekly plans.

I like to think of myself as a TV dinner connoisseur. As a kid, I used to devour those things. I have fond memories of Swanson’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes, turkey and gravy, and of course that little cherry cobbler pie. Let’s not discuss the 9000 calories, 400 grams of fat, and 1.6 million grams of sodium that was in each one.
It’s been years since I’ve had a true TV dinner, though I have eaten a number of “light” or “healthier” frozen meals from Lean Cuisine or Weight Watchers. To be honest, they’re pretty bad. You get small portions, they taste mediocre, and they’re loaded with salt.
Recently, however, I had the opportunity to give Bistro MD a try. They’re frozen meals carefully prepared by chefs with real ingredients that are delivered straight to your door. The overall meal plans are even designed by physicians, so they should actually be quite healthy for you.
As someone who still enjoys a good Hot Pocket now and then, how could I not give Bistro MD a try? Needless to say, I was quite skeptical.
