New Bra Design Offers to Hold Even More

The JoeyBra

Stop by any bra boutique, and you’re sure to find a huge variety of bra choices that offer everything from support, multi-way straps, and a plethora of surgery-free enhancements.  But here’s a bra you may not have seen yet. The latest in ta-ta technology, the JoeyBra.

Borrowing its name from a kangaroo pouch, this convertible push-up bra does more than just hold the girls up. The bra/purse hybrid comes designed with transparent pockets built under each arm and is capable of storing everything from your credit cards to your smartphone. Gone are the days of hauling your purse around the bar or having to get creative when juggling your kids and their whatnots across town. This bad boy would free your hands up while keeping your valuables safe and secure in neat little hidden pockets.

The JoeyBraThe kill-two-birds-with-one-stone bra design is the crafting of college students Mariah Gentry and Kyle Bartlow, who aimed to help chick’s ditch the need for a purse or their boyfriend’s pockets for phone storage. Although women have been stashing cash and tucking away lipstick tubes in their brassieres for years, the two were the first to develop a sexy bra that was actually designed to take on the task.

Right now, the JoeyBra is currently limited to the inventive duo’s college campus area and JoeyBra.com, but the pair hopes to broaden the bra’s availability nationwide and may even offer a sports bra version somewhere down the road. Currently, it’s only available in a “Sexy Leopard” print and just 3 size choices (Small for 32A/32B/34A, Medium for 32C/34B, or Large 32D/34C/36B.) The good news is, the retail price for the JoeyBra will only set you back a reasonable $20 and is due to ship in just a month.

Bras have definitely come a long way since this vintage bra ad!

While the concept definitely seems like an interesting idea, I’m still not sure I’ll be clicking the “Buy” button. We already avoid tucking our phones into our back pockets (hello, accidental butt-dialing), so how many pals will we prank with armpit dialing? And what about having to put our hands down our tops when our phones ring or we need to hand our i.d. or credit card to the bartender? Awkward!

After years of big companies trying to revolutionize the bra, can two college students really nail a bra that is not only comfortable, but functional and sexy at the same time?

Falling for Free People

Free People is one of my favorite brand names. Yes, I know I’m stealing my own Pinterest board name for this Free People post (i.e. the title of this post), but I honestly think you should fall for Free People too! From their gypsy like styling to their casual pullovers, Free People always exceeds my expecations in fashion. Even though they are a bit pricey their clothing is durable, comfy, and very trendy. A few years ago I owned only one tank top from this brand name. Now I own several tops and dresses and am hoping to have more soon (including pullovers)! :) My favorite new top is in a coral color, which is perfect for the spring and summer time.

Here are a few of my favorite apparel pieces from their different clothing categories:

Pullovers:

Why Pullovers are great: pullovers are ideal to wear during the spring time. When it’s chilly outside a pullover is also convenient to have with you. If you use a larger purse like I do, why not put it inside your bag? It will come in handy when the temperature drops in the evening or you are at a family get together and it is getting cold outside.

Tattered Lace Pullover - $98

A lace pullover is girly and feminine, perfect for the spring time and works perfectly for glamming up an outfit. Enjoy pretty details on this tattered lace pullover such as lace insets at the shoulders and reverse seams. This pullover also includes a ribbed trim Bateau neckline. I really like the lace on this pullover and think this is the perfect neutral pullover to bring with you anywhere.

Cable Guy Cropped Pullover Sweater - $78

Enjoy a scooped knit sweater that’s neutral in color and very comfy! This pullover has long sleeves with a ribbed hem. This is another great pullover that will look fantastic with a variety of outfits, from jeans to a maxi dress!

Long Sleeve Marled Knit Cropped Sweater - $98

Another great sweater from Free People is this cropped sweater that comes in a delicious berry color. This pullover is no doubt very comfortable and will look stylish and cute paired with a variety of outfits too.

Dresses:

Free People has some amazing dresses. Let me say it again: Free People has some amazing dresses. I have a few dresses that I adore and they are my Free People dresses. They manage to bring a unique look to their dresses that are both romantic and lovely. Even if you’re not into the romantic look they also encompass a bohemian edge which is also very charming.

Gypsy Lace Cocktail Party Dress - $128

Need a little bit of lace? This dress has the perfect amount of lace and still manages to look simple and classy. Pair it with a leather jacket and you’ll have just the right amount of edge. I love the simplistic looks that Free People manages to create. This is one of many of the dresses that I adore.

Chiffon Cape Babydoll Ruffle Dress - $118

Macy’s describes this dress well on their website when they say it is flirty, feminine, and floaty. I definitely agree and seriously love the color – it’s a “hot raspberry” shade. With the beautiful ruffles and gorgeous color, this is the perfect dress for the summer time.At least I think so.  :)

Moonlight Papaya Dress - $100

Go for the orange and glam up your look with an asymmettrical one shoulder dress that’s fun and flirty. There’s also beaded detailing at the empire waist, which makes this dress perfect for any vacation or just for going out on a date! I love the color of this dress because it’s bold and very trendy. Bright colors are in and this dress is especially gorgeous.

I could go on and on about Free People, but I think this gives you a great start on what clothing they have to offer. They also have amazing shorts (check out the denim cut off shorts), tops, pants, and even jewlery. If you’re hesitant about trying their clothing out don’t be. They might be pricey, but one thing I’ve learned is that a higher price isn’t all about the name of the brand. It’s the quality of the clothing too. Pay more for clothing and you’ll have longer lasting clothing. This is definitely true about Free People.
